Qualified Experienced Caring
Helping You Find Your Way
I have enjoyed working in private practice as a counselor for almost 30 years and have experienced success and deep satisfaction in helping people reach their goals of healing, intimacy, connection, growth, depth and meaning. It is an honour for me to be invited into people's lives in such an intimate and important way.
Professional Qualifications:
I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from UBC. I have extensive post-graduate training in treatment approaches including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Integrative Psychotherapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and Yoga Psychotherapy. These are the philosophies that inform the skills that I bring to the therapeutic relationship. Ongoing studies have helped me attain expertise in the treatment of depression, anxiety, post partum issues, grief and loss, stress, trauma, shyness, couple relationship issues, self-esteem, eating disorders, mid-life and other transitions.
Personal Qualifications:
While professional qualifications are important, of equal, and perhaps greater importance is the therapist as a person. Let me explain who I am. I am kind, ethical, caring, committed, compassionate, respectful, interested, and mature. I have a sense of humour when appropriate and have a capacity to think creatively. These are some of the qualities I bring to the therapeutic relationship. Clients tell me they feel comfortable with me.
